Insecure Writer's Support Group: September 2013

It's time for another outing with the Insecure Writer's Support Group and it's creator, the Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh.  The IWSG is two years old and stronger than ever thanks to a thriving community of insecure writers!  I guess those insecurities are good for something!

The co-hosts for this month are Chemist Ken, S.L. Hennessy, Michelle Wallace, and Joylene Nowell Butler.  They're all awesome bloggers, and I'm sure they're up for the challenge.

This month my main insecurity centers around picking things up again.  The last couple of weeks have been busy, so I haven't had as much writing time as I would like.  As a result, my WIP has suffered.  Of course, we all deal with the demands of daily life, and I know we all have to put our writing aside from time to time, no matter how important it is to us.  Still, I'm eager to pick things up again where I left off.  Since my son Jude officially started preschool today, I'll have three hour blocks of time when I only have one child to worry about.  And he frequently takes naps during the time of the afternoon when Jude will be at school.  Hopefully this window of opportunity will get me where I need to be with regards to my writing.

However, I know what it's like when you lose momentum on a project.  It takes time and patience to build it up again.  I know I just need to jump in, reacquaint myself with it a little, and try not to let any frustrations I have drive me away.  I can do it.  I will do it.

Wish me luck!

  1. Take advantage of those hours. Might take you a day or two to really get back into the groove, but it will happen.

  3. It can be hard to pick up a project again after a while, but you'll get there. Good luck! :)
