The Insecure Writer's Support Group: February 2015

Is it the first Wednesday of the month already?  That means it's time for the Insecure Writer's Support Group to convene once again.  A big thank you goes out to our Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh for making this group possible.  I'd also like to thank this month's co-hosts: Gwen Gardner, Dolorah, Sarah Foster, and M. Pax.

This month I'm exhausted, and it's impacted my writing.  I can't produce as much as I'd like, but I know I shouldn't let it get to me.  It's a symptom of early pregnancy, and it afflicted me with both my boys.  It'll pass.  I know that from experience.  Though it doesn't help that I've had to severely cut back on my caffeine intake.  That's the hardest thing to give up.  I mean, yeah, I'll miss beer, but coffee is the hardest thing to cut back on.

Within a month or so, I should be feeling much more productive, and I'll let that fact reassure me.  I'll also make do by producing a little something each day.  Even if it's only a mere 100 words, I'll take that as a victory.

Are you feeling insecure this month?

  1. Hey, 100 words a day is something! You should just try to do whatever you can.

  2. Wow, LG! It seems that every blog I visit today has someone who is struggling and juggling. But how exciting for you, a baby! Take care of you first!

  4. You know it will pass, so just ride it out. And get your family to help you - don't wear yourself out.

  7. Don't beat yourself up, you can only do what you can do. Besides, I would say 100 words a day is pretty good, anyway :)

  8. Congrats on your coming little one! Any number of words written is progress when your not feeling up to par. Take it easy and go with the flow.

  9. Congratulations on your newest little one in the oven! How exciting for you. I am a long way from those days, but still remember my joy in being the oven... I tried to find a way to contact you but couldn't so am trying this way. Alex, our Ninja Captain, sent a list to the A to Z co-hosts this year and suggested we contact those who said they'd like to be minions again this year. If you aren't already spoken for, would you like to be on my team? I have five besides myself so far, but want a few more so we don't have too much work to do. I would love to have you on my team. Just let me know... Lisa celticadlx@gmail.com
