M is for Mishap

For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I’m writing drabbles based on words I got from a random word generator.  A drabble is a short piece of fiction of exactly 100 words.

Enjoy!

Mishap

It began with a harvest of grapes.
Those grapes were transformed into a delicious wine.
That wine was consumed at a wedding.
Some wedding guests consumed more wine than others.
The best man consumed more than was advisable in a short amount of time.  That best man decided to stand on a table to give his speech.
The table in question also held the wedding cake.
The best man concluded the speech lying atop the flattened cake.  All who saw it were horrified at the mishap.
At least there was a fondue table.  The guests enjoyed chocolate covered grapes instead.

  1. At least the cake broke his fall...otherwise he could have broken something else. :P
