There wasn't a badge for this, so I cobbled this one together in paint in under two minutes. It isn't fancy, but it adds color to the post, which was my goal all along.

Now, here are my seven things!
Thing #1
I've been getting into the habit of listening to StarTalk Radio while I write. Neil deGrasse Tyson's voice rocks, and I love science! I find the shows quite inspiring. If you've never heard it, I highly recommend it! They're well worth the time.
Thing #2
I cannot stand wearing any kind of turtleneck. I feel like I'm being strangled every time I try. Now, I don't care if the turtleneck top in question makes me look amazing. It simply is not worth the discomfort for me.
Thing #3
I have a thing for old cars. They seem to have more character. They have a lifetime of stories, previous owners who lived part of their lives inside them. When I see an old car, I try to picture the people who used to drive them, and all the places where that car might have been.

The only time I feel good about my artistic ability (meaning anything creative not having to do with writing) is when I'm playing play dough with my kids. Or quilting, though I haven't done that one in several years.

I'm paranoid. Not about the world ending or anything like that. I'm just paranoid that I'm always on the verge of ruining something. Intellectually I know it's not true, but that doesn't stop me from second-guessing everything I'm about to do.

Friday the 13th is supposed to be an unlucky day, but it tends to be a lucky day for me. I met my husband on Friday, May 13, 2005. Wow, is that really almost eight years ago?

I love fractals. They're pretty, and though math wasn't my favorite subject in school by any means, I do appreciate their mathematical properties.

It appears we have a bit in common. I also can't stand turtlenecks, am fascinated with old cars, and I started dating my hubby in 2005 (although we knew each other from high school, so I reckon that's cheating a little ;) ).

I also share an affinity for older model cars. Nowadays cars have all of the frills and goodies, but a 5 mph collision is expensive. Oh, and don't get me started on car computer problems! lol
ReplyDeleteI've done these 7 things about me and such so many times that it's difficult to come up with anything new. I like old cars as well. My dream is to own an old Hudson 1947-1952 model. I don't know exactly what year it was, but my parents had a Hudson when I was little and I've missed that car ever since.

ReplyDeleteI love old cars and have always wanted a model T. I do have a collection of miniatures -- not quite the same thing. I would also love to have a Dodge Charger and a Mustang the older models.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm freezing, so piling on the clothes and topping it off with a sweater - a must. L L Bean soft T-turtle necks nice and warm. Maybe in another life you were strangled. I think I was beheaded in another life because I've feared that since childhood. Crazy I know.
Oh, and I'm paranoid too -- I disabled my computer camera as soon as I bought it -- did you see the news tonight about how they can hack your account and watch you. CREEPY!

ReplyDeleteI've always had good luck on Friday the 13th too. And I always thought I was alone in that. Glad to find out otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI also can't stand turtlenecks. In fact, I can't wear a shirt that is tight around my neck at all, either. The invention of scoopnecks and v-necks was a lifesaver for me.

I'm not too terrified of Friday the 13th, but I do mark it when it comes around and I'm a bit more careful about driving and climbing ladders and I avoid all cats just in case they have a black furry ancestor and . . . well, maybe I'm more terrified of that date than I thought.
