R is for Rubbish

Today I have another drabble for you.  For those of you who don't know, a drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.

Rubbish

Olivia Nutella Clearwater met her best friend in a rubbish pile.  Heathcliffe was a sandy blond who was short for his age and alarmingly skinny.

Upon their first meeting, Olivia declared she was a princess, and that she wanted to change her name to Periwinkle.  Heathcliffe promptly declared that he was an inventor.

“That’s why I dig through this rubbish pile,” he said as she tossed aside a broken toilet seat.  “You’d be surprised what people throw out.”

“My mom says it’s dangerous to be out here,” Olivia said.

Heathcliffe shrugged.  “Aren’t all the best things a little bit dangerous?”
