Celebrate the Small Things-August 21, 2015

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain.  Tonja and I are her co-hosts.

We took the kids to the beach last weekend.  Well, it's the closest thing to a beach that you can find in Iowa anyway.  The kids went swimming and attempted to make sand castles.  They certainly enjoyed themselves.

My kids go back to school next week.  I took them to Meet Your Teacher Night last night, and they were so excited about the whole thing.  In fact, they didn't want to come home after it was over.  I'm glad to see them so happy about school.  I hope that enthusiasm lasts for many years to come.

I participated in Write . . . Edit . . . Publish this week.  The goal was to depict a spectacular setting.  I'm glad I did it, because I've received a lot of good feedback.  If you'd like to read my entry, you can find it HERE.  I'd also recommend that you read some of the other entries as well.  There are a lot of talented writers there.

You can still get a coupon to get my novella A Silent Soliloquy free from Smashwords. Just go HERE for details.

What would you like to celebrate?

  4. It doesn't matter how big or how small of a beach, as long as you're all together and having fun!!! Have a nice weekend.

  7. Happy to hear your kids are excited. My little guy is on his third week back to school and still is raring to go out the door every morning to the bus. Have a great weekend!

  8. As an ex kinder teacher, I'm always so happy to hear about the kids who want to run out the door because of a good teacher.

  9. It wonderful when your kids enjoy school. :)

I have to apologize twice! I got and read Cosmic Seasonings and enjoyed it very much, but can't seem to find a minute to write a review. (I'm behind on other people's reviews, too. *sigh*) I also can't believe it hadn't occurred to me to include it on Friday Freebies (and your Silent Soliloquy read2review deal too). I promise to get my act together and take care of this before next Friday!!

  11. Enjoy the kids' enthusiasm. Who knows how long that will last? Probably until they are teenager? (Unless they already are and in that case, what's your secret?)

  12. Still remember the buzz and thrill of starting school.....with my children, and way back when. The experience never leaves us it seems. It's scary and exciting all in one.

  18. Glad your kids are excited about school. It's so important that they enjoy it. I took my son to see the middle school he'll be going to next year earlier this week and he's now so excited about it, I don't know how we'll make it through the summer.

  19. I've just read your piece. Interesting stuff - and not an easy tense to work with. As for 'back to school', can it be that time already? Our UK children have another couple of weeks off, although the weather seems to think it's autumn already.

  20. I'm not sure I was ever that enthusiastic for school. Such a shame. Hope the magic never ends for them.
