The Insecure Writer's Support Group: May 2016

It's the first Wednesday of the month!  That means it's also time for another meeting of the Insecure Writer's Support Group.  This group was founded by Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh.  His co-hosting minions for this month are Stephen Tremp, Fundy Blue, M.J. Fifield, Loni Townsend, Bish Denham, Susan Gourley, and Stephanie Faris.

Be sure to check out the IWSG website!

The big news this month is that the IWSG anthology

Parallels: Felix Was Here is now available!  I'm super excited to be a part of this, and I hope everyone who gets a copy enjoys reading it.

I'm just finishing up a story for submission, and I'm nervous about it. Bracing for potential rejection is never fun, but it's all part of the process.

I'll also be entering the revision stage on my latest novella once I'm done with that short story.  I'm always insecure about revision, but I think I've been getting better about it over the last year or so.  I definitely don't have as much anxiety about it as I used to.

What are you insecure or excited about this month?

  1. Yay for having less anxiety about the revisions, and for braving the submission process, and for the release of your story in the anthology! Woohoo!

  2. Congratulations on your submission, oh and the release of Parallels! So cool!
I think just having a submission at this stage is such a positive move.
I'm taking a break from blogging to write and regroup, a much needed break, even with insecurities beating on the door. It's writing that I want to spend my time on!

  4. I really don't like the submission process, but thankfully once the door opens to a single publication, most doors crack open an inch. Wishing you the best!

  5. It's great that you have less anxiety about the revision process. I thought that would be the case for me, too, this time around, but it hasn't really worked out that way so far.

Congrats on the anthology, and best of luck with your upcoming submission!

  9. Excited about the release of Parallels, but stressed about prepping my own collection of short stories for Amazon. I can get it done, but then come marketing. I'll have to step outside my comfy little box to do it.

  13. I won a copy of the anthology and I'm very excited to get stuck into it :-)

My big insecurity this month is keeping on track with my novel writing after changing my approach to it. I think I'm on the write track now, but secretly worry that I'm not. Well, not so secretly as I just *confessed* it here :-)
