For
this year’s A to Z Challenge, I’m writing drabbles based on words I got from a
random word generator. A drabble is a
short piece of fiction of exactly 100 words.
Enjoy!
Guideline
“This is against the
rules,” Regina whispered. Her blue eyes
were wide as she glanced around to make sure the coast was clear.
Nigel waved his hand
dismissively. “Rules are
guidelines. Entrepreneurs always break
the rules.”
Regina shook her head as
Nigel mounted the bicycle. “This isn’t
the same as starting a business or inventing something,” she warned.
“It’ll be fine,” he
insisted.
It turned out that some
rules existed for a reason. Regina went
to visit Nigel after he got home from the hospital, a newspaper in hand. The headline read “Local Teen Shatters Femur
Jumping Chasm on Bicycle.”
That was a fun short story. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing.
