Chapter
40: The
Elixir of Limitlessness

The small vial Warberry had handed Ylana contained a soft
pink liquid called the “Elixir of Limitlessness.” Why it had to have such a
philosophical-sounding name, she could only guess. Maybe everything on this world had to have
the air of mystery about it.
In essence, this elixir was supposed to, in limited cases, turn
the impossible into that which is merely unlikely (apparently it would never be
enough to save the planet from the supposed guarantee of doom-she even made
sure to ask).
She hovered above Nara’s sickbed, ready to administer the
treatment, her stomach in knots as she wondered where she would go from here
should this fail.
We are so incredible restricted in our possibilities!
ReplyDeleteThat is why we dream about limitless power to rule over the Universe.
You write so well, this few sentences show our great failure and our greater wish to transform our desires in reality.
Beautiful! I like your tale no end!
You are endlessly creative in piecing this story together so well. I hope you compile it all together in one volume at some point.

Elixirs are great because you never know what will happen or where they can take you. I use an elixer in my books but its a drug my protagonists uses to stay away. He gets hooked on them and it contributes to his descent into madness and ultimately his demise.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was, "Write a five sentence paragraph well enough to grab the reader? A true challenge." And, you pulled it off very well. I'm wondering what's going to happen to the poor soul receiving the Elixir of Limitlessness. Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove your five-sentence story. That takes quite a bit of skill to tell a tale in so few words. And you've been blitzed!
