The Insecure Writer's Support Group-January 2020

It's time for another meeting of The Insecure Writer's Support Group. Our leader Alex J. Cavanaugh has assembled a great group of co-hosts for this month: T. Powell Coltrin, Victoria Marie Lees, Stephen Tremp, Renee Scattergood, and J.H. Moncrieff.

Be sure to check out the IWSG website!

Sorry this post is so late! Life got busy, and it completely slipped my mind that we were posting today. Better late than never though!

Here's the optional question for this month:

What started you on your writing journey? Was it a particular book, movie, story, or series? Was it a teacher/coach/spouse/friend/parent? Did you just "know" suddenly you wanted to write?

I've been a writer for as long as I can remember. Growing up, books filled our home. My parents were always reading. I was enraptured by the stories my parents would read to me. I wanted to know more about the people who created those stories. It astounded me that people had the power to imagine these different worlds, places, and possibilities. I can't recall an exact moment when I knew I wanted to be a writer,  but I also can't recall a time in my life when I didn't want it.

What started you on your writing journey?
