Crime is a rare thing in this town, so you’re
taken aback to see a young woman trying to yank a purse from an old lady’s
grasp. The old lady must be stronger
than she looks, because she’s fighting back, maintaining her hold on her purse
with one hand and the younger woman isn’t making any real headway. The old lady’s other hand is grasping a cane
and using it to whack her assailant repeatedly in the shins.
Several other people have started to gather
about the scene, but no one is moving in to help. You’re torn.
You want to help, but you’ve never done well with physical
confrontations.
