It's Friday! Let's Celebrate the Small Things with VikLit!
Once again, I am a proud co-host, as are the following wonderul bloggers:
I've had an amazing week as far as the acquisition of books is concerned! Let me show you.
First of all, my dad gave me an awesome copy of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. Look at how pretty it is!
It has all kinds of neat illustrations inside. I love it!
I also got a book in the mail this week, and it's another one I'll treasure forever. My husband bought it for me for our anniversary. While our anniversary was a couple of weeks ago, shipping takes awhile.
As you can see by the picture of the cover, the book in question is The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. Rule one: If Neil Gaiman wrote it, I want it. However, my husband went one step further and got me an AUTOGRAPHED copy.
Look at it. That's Neil Gaiman's autograph. That means he actually touched the book that I now own. Isn't that awesome? My husband definitely did good with this one.
What would you like to celebrate?
Aw, congrats on such wonderful and rare treasures!!! xD I'd be dancing on the ceiling too!

I love that copy of the Hobbit!! It is beautiful! I have that one too, but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. I know what I'll be doing today. :)
ReplyDeleteYour husband got your an autographed book means he is definitely an awesome guy. :)
Lovely book celebrations this week, enjoy your reading :)
ReplyDeleteAutographed books are always awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm celebrating watching a reluctant reader actually pick up a book and read it this summer. You have some great selections. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a book haul! Your dad is great.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I'm so jealous of your copy of The Hobbit! Mine is an old second-hand one, I definitely need an upgrade.
ReplyDeleteAwesome books, LG. You obviously have men in your life who appreciate your love of good reads. Enjoy. I'm celebrating being at Lee's today and having Hank as a guest host. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteBy a strange coincidence, The Hobbit is playing on TV in front of me right now. Haha! Yes, I've seen it before, but like re-reading books, some things are classics and just get better. Congrats on your new acquisitions! :)
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Those are wonderful books. Well worth celebrating. Happy reading!
