The prompt for this week: Who's your favorite couple? They can be historical, fictional, or even present day.
Tristan and Yvaine from Neil Gaiman's Stardust
-Anything that comes from the mind of Neil Gaiman is bound to be brilliant, and the relationship between these characters is no exception. She's sassy and he's so busy trying to win over the love of another that he doesn't seem to realize that he's falling for her until it's happened. The dynamic is fun, and I love their interactions.
Amy and Rory from Doctor Who
-These two are both awesome in their own right, but you put them together and amazing things happen.
Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres from Star Trek Voyager
-In this relationship, things get bumpy from time to time. These are two strong-willed individuals who don't always agree, but in the end, they care about each other. They both have rocky pasts, but they both grow individually and together.
John Sheridan and Delenn from Babylon 5
-First off, I'm a sucker for inter-species relationships. I enjoy the cultural issues involved. And with Sheridan and Delenn, they had the whole load of issues left over from the Minbari war. I also love their dynamic. When they work together, they can accomplish anything, and they support each other in a real and believable way.
G'Kar and Londo Mollari from Babylon 5
-I know these two aren't technically a couple, but they might as well be. These men, one Narn and the other Centauri, start out with a spiteful relationship due to the years of bad blood between their races. Death and destruction follow them through the series. Things go from bad to worse, but both characters grow in extraordinary ways as a result. They can't get away from one another, and by the end, they play off of each other like an old married couple. I loved seeing these two do scenes together, because they were endlessly entertaining.
