Now let's drabble on with the letter D!
Debt
“You owe me a debt,” Lana said with a smirk, her arms
crossed in front of her chest. “I don’t
chase away bullies for free.”
Elliot made a futile attempt to straighten his damaged
glasses, more to make it look like he wasn’t staring at her. Lana’s knee-high black leather boots made her
look like a warrior goddess. Bullies had
always been a reality for him, and he couldn’t figure out why someone like her
would help him.
“What do you want?” he asked hesitantly.
The smirk turned to a smile.
“Just a kiss, because I think you’re cute.”
Such a sweet debt to repay!
ReplyDeleteAwww - you had me going there at the beginning, I was wondering what she could want and then at the end there it made me smile - thanks for a lovely start to my day.

Oh that's really cute! I love it.
ReplyDeleteA kiss? How old are these kids (I ask because I have sixth grade twins, and I am dreading their foray into kissing or anything else in this direction.)
ReplyDeleteBest regards,
Elizabeth
nice, are they kids or adults, would this be a sweet chaste kiss, or one that involved fangs and some blood letting?
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute little bit of writing. I can really feel the scene.

ReplyDeleteNice, tight writing. You've conveyed quite a bit in a few sentences! Nicely done. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove this! So fun. Great job telling a story in very few words. Keeping it short is such a challenge for me, and you've done so well with this. It makes me curious to learn more about Lana.
ReplyDeleteEvery awkward kids dream come true. Cute ending.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fair trade. Fun story!
ReplyDeleteAww how sweet! I like this!
ReplyDeleteThis had me thinking she's just the same as the bullies and then no. A great little story.
