It's Friday! Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain. Tonja Drecker and I are her co-hosts.
The kids have been home for spring break, and it's been great spending time with them. My six year old son Jude was showing off how well he's learning to read. We're so proud of him. Lyle has been showing off how well he can count. I have some smart and motivated boys.
I've gotten some good writing done this week, so I'm pretty happy about that.
We had a movie night with the kids on Wednesday, and they saw E.T. for the first time. They loved it! It's fun to see them get excited about things I enjoyed during my childhood.
On Thursday, we all wore green and went bowling. The kids enjoy bowling so much it's insane. It's so cute watching them pick up bowling balls that are nearly as big as they are. After that we played in the arcade for awhile, and I became temporarily addicted to skeeball. Oops.
What would you like to celebrate?
Sounds like you had a great time with the kiddies! I must have watched E.T. a million times and I cry in exactly the same places every time. A powerful emotional movie. I also had a an E.T. cuddly toy. :)

Hi LG, thought I'd pop in and welcome you to the minion squad for AtoZ. I'm one of AJ Lauer's #wHooligans! I am really looking forward to April...and not just for the warmer temperatures! :O)
ReplyDeleteI haven't played skeeball in forever. Or watched ET. Might be due for a good cry at the movies soon.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to sit and watch a child watching one of your favorite movies for the first time? You know all the high parts, and you have the treat of seeing the reaction to, say, ET's healing, glowing fingertip, and watch them cycling across the full moon. What a lovely time you had!
ReplyDeleteYou've done well with your kids! Bet it's funny to watch them bowl.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely break for everyone! We spent time at the beach but the weather didn't quite cooperate, still it was a wonderful break too! Celebrating an exciting and busy March!
ReplyDeleteGreat things to be grateful for! Enjoy their home time 💚

ET was the first movie my mom took me to see as an infant. Really she just wanted to see it so... I still have the infant sized ET tshirt she bought to commemorate the experience. LOL.
ReplyDeleteSounds like lots of fun, but I'm ready for spring break to be over and it hasn't even started here yet. It's because my coworkers are needing days off because of it and I have to get creative with my scheduling. LOL
ReplyDeleteET is a great movie. I don't know anyone who doesn't like it. Bowling with kids is a hoot. Mostly they laugh at me because they are better than me.
ReplyDeleteYay for your writing progress and for spending time with your boys! ET makes me cry every time. I adore that movie - one of Spielberg's best! Bowling and skeeball sound like a lot of fun. Have a lovely weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I went bowling, but it's always fun. Sounds like you're having lots of fun:)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week with the kids, and you even got some writing done-wow! I wonder what mine would think of ET. Guess it's time for a movie night soon too :)
