Celebrate the Small Things-September 15, 2017

It's Friday!  Let's Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain!  Tonja Drecker and I are her co-hosts.

I've finished the first draft of a new short story, and I'm hoping to finish editing it by the end of the day today. Fingers crossed that I don't succumb to procrastination.

Procrastination has been a problem this week since my husband and I have been re-watching Game of Thrones.  It hasn't been good for my productivity, but it's been too entertaining for me to care too much.

Zoe learned to wave.  It's so cute when she does it, too.  She's also getting more teeth.  Five in total have popped through now, and a sixth is visible just below the surface.  She bit my shoulder the other day, and I have to say, it really hurt.  She seemed to think it was funny.

What would you like to celebrate?

  1. Congratulations on finishing the draft to your short story! I hope you were able to finish editing it before procrastination got you.
It's great that you're enjoying your baby's achievements and developments. My first baby is taller than me and my mom, but hasn't surpassed my husband yet. His voice changed, but we still see the baby in him that he once was.
    Have a great weekend!

  2. Bite her back!
It's easy to get sucked into Game of Thrones, isn't it?

  4. Procrastinating on writing has been getting me too. I really need to get my butt in gear, especially since I revealed a cover today and the sequel isn't finished.

  5. I discovered Vikings on Netflix recently, and yes...I've been binge watching a little, so I get what you say about time. I don't care. Watching TV requires no thinking, and as I'm a teacher full time and a writer part time, I need some 'no thinking' time.

  6. Congrats on your short story. I watched the first season of GOT, and then stopped. But with all the hype, I feel I need to revisit it...

  7. Congrats on your short story! I have some of my own that are either fully handwritten or just recently typed up. I need to get back into editing! My recent success is joining the WOW Women on Writing team!

  9. Congrats finishing the first draft!! Completion of any story can be a huge challenge. I hear you on the TV temptation. So easy to do, but sometimes we need the mind break.

  10. Congratulations on your short story. Sometimes they are more difficult to write than a novel. Seriously. So . . . well done!
