It's time for another Write . . . Edit . . . Publish challenge! Thank you to Yolanda Renee, Denise Covey, Nilanjana Bose, and Olga Godim for making this blogging event possible.
Since we're approaching the end of 2017, we're also pausing to reflect on the nature of endings and beginnings. This is a broad and interesting topic with a wide array of possibilities.
I decided to try something short and fun with this one. It took several tries to get this to work, and I invite you to let me know how well it worked for you. (Note: the different colors of letters are used for a reason, it isn't random.)

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI like your poem. It brought a smile to my face. However, I got lost with the coloured letters and have to admit I have my problems at times with puzzles.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a successful crossover into 2018.
Shalom aleichem,
Pat Garcia
Wouldn't that be wild if we were caught in a loop like that Star Trek episode and we didn't know it?
ReplyDelete'Philosophy made more sense with proper amounts of alcohol...' LOL. Like Pat, I'm not a puzzle person. I'll be interested to hear the interpretation of the colors. Once I know, I'll berate myself for not working it out. But it sounds like an endless time warp to me. You must have used some brain power to come up with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, LG, for writing for WEP this year. It's been wonderful having you and your stories (and poems). I wish you and yours the happiest holiday season and all the very best for 2018!
Denise :-)

ReplyDeleteI got the sense of endings and beginnings in an eternal loop with a sense of optimism and adventure. Happy Holidays!

ReplyDeleteI love puzzles. Clever, although it took me a while to guess that two of the colors should be read backwards.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the sentiment as well: philosophy always makes better sense with alcohol.
Happy holidays!
I loved your take, and your optimism. Challenges should indeed be met with champage (Real pain to my sham friends and champagne to my real friends.)
ReplyDeletehaha suck back the alcohol to try and make in more bearable. Going round and round would sure be annoying.
ReplyDeleteToasting the new year with Champagne is the best way to reflect and hope.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping you have a happy New Year celebration.
This was a fun piece including the hidden words that relate to the topic: eternal, forever, etc. "Tripping through Through the infinity Loop" is also very thought provoking because of the many cycles or loops that permeate our lives: night and day, years, the cycle of seasons, lunar cycles are all astronomical cycles. Life cycles, remember learning about the water cycle (rain and snow are a part of this). There are so many more cycles all the way down to subatomic cycles. Considering the planet as been around for about 4.5 billion years, Infinity Loops sounds more rational than hyperbole. Thanks for writing and sharing this. Again, I found it very thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteI have my own bottle of bubbly in the fridge. Can't wait to pop the top and get this New Year started! Such positive vibes this time of year!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours the Happiest of New Year's!
An interesting idea and fun for those who love riddles and puzzles. I'm not one of those, although I did attempt to unravel your message in the letters. Hope your Christmas was merry. Best wishes for the new year.
ReplyDeleteA very interesting take on the prompt. Philosophy makes more sense with the right amounts of alcohol. Totally agree. Might apply to puzzles too, who knows? Off for my swig :)
ReplyDeleteHave the happiest and funnest New Year 2018. All the very best!
Hi LG - I loved the idea of the loops of infinity - swirling away ... life is like that. Philosophy we can agree with others or not ... I then tend to go off on my own loop ... but a glass of bubbly to help the New Year is always good. I couldn't work out the puzzle - so sincerely hope you'll let us into the secret ... pretty please! Congratulations though on a delightful thought provoking poem ... cheers Hilary
