It's time for another Monday of accountability. In the past week I posted another two pieces of flash fiction, and I also kept up with my blog posts. Those are both good things. As for my 1st draft I wanted to finish, it's mostly done.
Pleiades: Which is her way of saying it's not done.
Me: Do you always have to be this negative?
Pleiades: It's called tough love.
Me: Why do I keep you around anyway?
Pleiades: You need me. That's why.
Oh, fine.
Anyway, as I was saying, the 1st draft of "The Dream Factory" is mostly done. I have all the important scenes written (though they need a lot of editing) and I have an outline detailing how they tie together. It's still very much a work in progress, but I am making progress on it nonetheless.

I've also been thinking about my self-publishing options. Instead of publishing my short novel The Great Divide along with some short stories, I'm thinking of making Prices Paid a short story collection and doing the The Great Divide as a solo project. Doing this would allow me to get my short story collection out sooner and to give my novel to attention it needs.
Anyway, that's how my thoughts are going this week. In the meantime, I'll keep going with my short stories and flash fiction as normal. This week, I am participating in the What If? Fairytale Madness Blogfest. I decided to join Cassie Mae's team Plot Twists. I've always loved a good plot twist, and it'll be fun fixing one of the issues that has always bothered me about one famous fairytale in particular. (If you want to know what that change is, come back and read my entry when I post it in the next 24 hours.) That being said, each category sounded awesome, and I think there's a team for every taste. If you write flash fiction and haven't yet joined in on the fun, I highly recommend it.
So, my goal for today is to finish my entry for this blogfest (which I have about halfway done at this point), as well as write another piece of flash fiction for my usual Tuesday post. After that, I'll get back to my other projects and focus on those for a couple of days.
I guess I just like to push myself.

You intrigue me, LG - can't wait to read your fairy-tale plot twist!
