We took the kids to the beach last weekend. Well, it's the closest thing to a beach that you can find in Iowa anyway. The kids went swimming and attempted to make sand castles. They certainly enjoyed themselves.
My kids go back to school next week. I took them to Meet Your Teacher Night last night, and they were so excited about the whole thing. In fact, they didn't want to come home after it was over. I'm glad to see them so happy about school. I hope that enthusiasm lasts for many years to come.
I participated in Write . . . Edit . . . Publish this week. The goal was to depict a spectacular setting. I'm glad I did it, because I've received a lot of good feedback. If you'd like to read my entry, you can find it HERE. I'd also recommend that you read some of the other entries as well. There are a lot of talented writers there.
You can still get a coupon to get my novella A Silent Soliloquy free from Smashwords. Just go HERE for details.
What would you like to celebrate?
Glad your kids are so enthusiastic for school. It sure makes learning more fun. Can't believe it's nearly the end of the summer break.
ReplyDeleteDamn, my comment disappeared. :(

It was wonderful having you for Write...Edit...Publish LG. All the best to your kiddies as they go back to school. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter how big or how small of a beach, as long as you're all together and having fun!!! Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteHope your kids keep their enthusiasm.
ReplyDeleteWhat constitutes a beach in Iowa?
Glad your kids enjoyed the beach! And here's to wishing them lots of enthusiasm for years to come (heaven knows, kids need it ;) )
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear your kids are excited. My little guy is on his third week back to school and still is raring to go out the door every morning to the bus. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAs an ex kinder teacher, I'm always so happy to hear about the kids who want to run out the door because of a good teacher.
ReplyDeleteIt wonderful when your kids enjoy school. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to apologize twice! I got and read Cosmic Seasonings and enjoyed it very much, but can't seem to find a minute to write a review. (I'm behind on other people's reviews, too. *sigh*) I also can't believe it hadn't occurred to me to include it on Friday Freebies (and your Silent Soliloquy read2review deal too). I promise to get my act together and take care of this before next Friday!!
So great to hear kids keen for school! Enjoy the last of your holidays. Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the kids' enthusiasm. Who knows how long that will last? Probably until they are teenager? (Unless they already are and in that case, what's your secret?)
ReplyDeleteStill remember the buzz and thrill of starting school.....with my children, and way back when. The experience never leaves us it seems. It's scary and exciting all in one.
ReplyDeleteI really need to get writing my WEP post, work just sucks up so much of my time! ;
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your kids are so enthusiastic about school, that's great :)
Someday, I have the courage. Someday. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteGoing to the beach with kids--- sounds like a great life experience. I'm glad you had a good weekend.

Love that they enjoy it, yes, hope that attitude stays with them. Thanks fo much for participating in the challenge. Great submission! Have a good weekend with your family!
ReplyDeleteGood thing they're happy about going back to school. Ought to make the readjusting easier.
ReplyDeleteGlad your kids are excited about school. It's so important that they enjoy it. I took my son to see the middle school he'll be going to next year earlier this week and he's now so excited about it, I don't know how we'll make it through the summer.
ReplyDeleteI've just read your piece. Interesting stuff - and not an easy tense to work with. As for 'back to school', can it be that time already? Our UK children have another couple of weeks off, although the weather seems to think it's autumn already.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I was ever that enthusiastic for school. Such a shame. Hope the magic never ends for them.
